Ubisoft is ready to lift the lid on Far Cry 6 with a full gameplay reveal this Friday, as teased in the short trailer above. The show starts at 5:30pm BST / 6:30pm CEST / 9:30am PDT / 12:30pm EDT. With Giancarlo Esposito's likeness and voice used throughout the teaser, we expect he'll play a large role in the gameplay glimpses the French publisher provides on 28th May 2021 as well as in the full game.
Far Cry 6 was originally scheduled to hit PlayStation 5 and PS4 earlier this year in April, but a significant delay has pushed it back. A release this year is still expected, however. We haven't seen anything from the game besides the initial announcement trailer, so expect this to be a real coming-out party. Gameplay, details, features, the lot. Maybe even a release date, but that could be saved for next month's Ubisoft Forward instead.

Lets go
Los pollos hermanos
Pokemon, Dragon Quest, HFW, Sonic, Dying Light 2, Far Cry 6
If companies/publishers keep on going like that there won't be any games left for E3
Let me guess, it's going to be an empty open world with two dimensional characters, with a sprinkle of "time saver" microtransactions.
And yeah, I'm a Ubisoft hater lol. Sorry not sorry!
The next 72 hours are going to be exhausting for gaming announcements.
BRING. IT. ON.
Haven't played a Far Cry game since Primal and was very underwhelmed with my experience. I'm actually looking forward to this one, though!
This is the one i'm waiting for. Hopefully there wont be multiplayer trophies this time, but i'll be getting it day 1 so i shouldn't have any trouble finding matches if there are.
So many gameplay coming wow.video games heaven.word up son
Fully expecting this to be Far Cry but a little prettier
I do love a far-cry game played them all.
Looking forward to this one, hopefully this year on my PS5.
I missed 5 all together but had a lot of fun with 2, 3 and 4. I think a break will have served me well and might jump in on this one if it looks cool.
Not expecting much tbh. Far cry hasn’t innovated much since 3
Okay I’m interested but can we save some announcements and gameplay for E3!? It’s like everybody is trying to get the spotlight before the show...which could mean 2 things
1. The e3 show is stacked and companies want to advertise before the bigger announcements
2. The e3 show is not stacked because companies wanted to advertise on their own time & dime
"We know you like bigger games so we are making the map twice the size of previous entries. And adding tons more filler.
And as a bonus we are going to add time-savers and other microtransactions in case you get bored"
Something like that I reckon.
@Divergent95 Fellow Ubisoft hater reporting for duty.
@2cents This isn't anything out of the ordinary, these sorts of reveals happen every year before E3. And after all, it's only three games so far — Dying Light 2, Horizon Forbidden West, and now Far Cry 6.
@LiamCroft that’s a valid point, it’s just been radio silence on these 3 particular games until now which caught me off guard
It’s seems like the info drought is coming to an end.
@2cents E3 has been close to dead for a while. I loved it back in the day but now I’m happy to get game info sporadically, not all at once.
@Divergent95 I couldn't have said it better myself. UbiSoft is the big reason I usually totally lose interest in a game as soon as I hear it is open world.
Blood Dragon was the best one.
If this announcement was for Blood Dragon 2, or something similar, I’d be pretty excited.
Far Cry 6 though... my reaction - ‘oh...ok’.
They’re decent games but the last few haven’t had that spark.
Let's hope they used the extra time to actually add some unique new content, better the story and innovate a little bit. Far Cry 4 and 5 were basically just prettier versions of 3 with lesser villains.
I am hoping for an urban setting for 6. Either one large urban area or multiple towns along with some jungle/wilderness areas. That could make 6 feel fresh when compared to previous Far Cry maps of jungle/wilderness with only small villages.
@2cents
I think the last time E3 really felt worthwhile, was in 2016, maybe 2017. 2015 was stellar.
If Ubisoft just shared its shooting mechanics across its titles, it'd make for better games.
I want leaning in Farcry a la R6. I want the movement and shooting mechanics of Division in Ghost Recon.
I don't get how they have such strong bases in one title, then don't share them in similar ones.
it will look like an open world ubisoft action rpg, it will have far cry mechanics, it will look a bit better than 5
Far Cry reached its peak with 3 . But hey , if Final Fantasy can make a bunch of games and have great ones going way up to 7 & 10 , then who knows.
Am I the only one who finds the cover art disturbing?
Love him as an actor.
Place him in a story driven open world game based on a fictional Cuba. And you have my cash.
Driving to the middle of the map and pretending I finally made it to Camaguey 😊
@mariomaster96 I doubt we have to worry about E3 running out of games to announce.
I've always liked Far Cry gameplay, but really, if you've played one, you've played them all. Felt a bit stale in the last one, and I'd like to see more effort put into some new gameplay. Of course, it's Ubisoft, so I don't have any real hope of that happening.
